1 October an afternoon on Stralau Peninsula
In the beautiful September light, I took a bit too many photos of a parent and offspring Great Grebes. But first, saw a heron dive into the disgusting-looking water, or whatever it is, the purpose of which I have always wondered about. The fish it caught looked very much alive, so there is life there though it looks toxic.
