1 August made gazpacho for Maxie’s birthday party to be held on the lovely rooftop terrace of her building overlooking Engelbecken.
2 August daytrip to Brandenburg/Havel
Main purpose being the organ concert in Brandenburg Cathedral, soloist Mari Fukumoto who by now needs no introduction, I think.
4 August Tempelhofer Feld, and session 3 of the BAI workshop
I decided to go out early since very hot weather was forecast. I am still not completely used to the new world order where predicting the weather relatively accurately is no longer part of a meteoroligist’s job description. (What ARE they actually supposed to be doing?).
Anyway, I was at Tempelhofer Feld when it opened at 6 AM.

The BAI workshop ongoing. Mixed feelings. Gave up sitting through the entire session and will listen to the teacher’s lecture part in the recording. Had submitted two photos (not repeated here) and this triptych:
5 August coffee and a real treat
Spent an inordinate amount of time solving the world’s problems over coffee in Café Nea in the ground floor of my building (Berlin’s best coffee) with Maxie.
In the very warm early evening, I walked – S L O W L Y – along the Landwehrkanal via Admiralbrücke to dinner with my two favourite foodies in Fukagawa in Fichtestraße. Saw a Coot with a fresh brood. I am clearly still a klutz at taking photographs in bright, evening sunlight:

9 August start of a one-week workshop with Göran Gnaudschun
I doubt anything will come of this, as far as I am concerned. I am sure the others are having a great time, but on day one, the programme was not adhered to at all, and for me, there was too much time wasted on yadayada-schnickschnack (and that was even without joining the others in a Biergarten in the evening). That already felt like half a day that I will never get back. Especially in this weather which makes me feel sleepy all the time, I do not want to hang around indoors doing nothing.

13 August 18.30 a new webinar with Blende2-Hamburg (which I always look forward to very much)
One of the assignments is macro photography, which I will focus on since this is a good opportunity to try to fix my dysfunctional relationship with my macro extension tube.

16 August
A quick walk across my local cemetery where I first heard, then saw, a Goshawk, but unfortunately did not manage to take a photo of it. I did see what Merlin identied as a Flycatcher – a first for me, as far as I remember.
Proceeded t to Rudower Fließ hoping to (macro) photograph some libellen, but unlike last time I was there, I did not see any at all.

Main purpose a photo session in a “Lost Place” with Go2Know. Also a visit to the Kloster what’sit museum and perhaps the zoo (a new baby elephant :-)).
