Two walks 20 and 21 September

IN PROGRESS

The first one with Volkshochschule, led by Derk Ehlert, he who needs no introduction (by some daily Berlin newspapers called “Berlins Wildtier Gott”), and it was indeed a very informative event and a beautiful walk although September is not the best month for birdwatching.

The second walk was with Bezirksgruppe Spandau des NABU Berlin, led by Christine Kuhnert, whom I have mentioned in previous posts.

On the occasion of Tag des Friedhofs, we walked around Friedhof In den Kisseln, which was new to me. Definitely worth another visit on a weekday – huge, diverse, many tall trees, many birds, and many benches. And toilets :-), so I can see myself wandering around there, and sitting on benches, for the best part of non-rainy day.

Bonus tip: Café Sesamring, one busstop away, was an equally useful discovery, with a great choice of breakfast/brunch dishes, tasty and (mostly though I did see some French fries) healthy, unlike in most cafés focusing on “European” breakfast fare which is bland, boring, AND completely devoid of any kind of nutritional value. Actually downright unhealthy in many cases. If and when I go back to the cemetery, I will absolutely factor in a visit to Café Sesamring.
