Jüterbog 19 September

I had bought a ticket for “Orgelnachtwanderung”, and since the weather was “September at its best”, I set out early in the day to have a closer look at the park and the old part of Jüterbog. Although it is only a fourty-minute trainride from Südstern, I had only been there once before.

I really enjoyed the day there, and found a Vietnamese restaurant for an early dinner, but in the early evening, I had signed up for a walk around to three churches, with a presentation of three organs, and three short organ concerts. Or so I thought. I had forgotten to take some people’s (especially in this country I am sorry to say) lack of communications skills or wills. It turned out the organ part was just a very small part of the event. There was also (too many) stops for history lessons, and at least one, that I know of, visit to a “Kneipe” where people were served enormous beers and some nasty-smelling “food” after the first concert. I got so annoyed, and felt slightly sick from the smells, plus not knowing what other unpleasant “surprises” were in store for us, that the thought of catching a much earlier train back than originally planned (they only go once every hour) suddenly became too tempting so I left and missed the other two organ presentations and concerts.
