Warning: A couple of rants or three

Karower Teiche with Grüne Liga Berlin e. V.

Despite the fact that it said very clearly in the description that the minimum age was 12 (I checked again when I got home), there were two children there at the dominant and noisy age, somewhere between four and seven, I think, but I did my best not to pay attention, though it immediately doubled the noise level.

Also, we were all treated a bit like children as it started with a quiz about our knowledge about insects. I have no patience for that kind of thing.

So from the start two reasons for me to keep a distance.

Second rant: S2 between Pankow and Karow is replaced by buses at the moment, which functions perfectly, is no problem at all, and does not take much longer, if at all. Still, people seem to always take this kind of situation not as a reason to leave home a bit earlier, but as an excuse (perfectly valid, they seem to think, with no need for apologies) for arriving late.

Third rant: What kind of imbecile has decided that cyclists are allowed on footpaths EVERYWHERE in parks, along canals etc., and not only cyclists out to enjoy nature, but people who use it to get from a to b, and even people who seem to be training for something, AND that it is ALWAYS the pedestrians who have to jump for their lives when a cyclist comes racing along?

No more rants.

Though this was mainly about insects, I had hoped for some bird photography as well, but apart from a heron that fled when I turned up at the meeting place, there was not much going on in the bird department.

Still, I enjoyed the parts of the walk I did away from the group. I did not take many photos (see below), but had a nice cup of coffee in Kaffeehaus near the station, a cafe discovered in connection with an earlier birdwatching walk with VHS Pankow, and where I also took the last photos.
