A very detailed lesson on all things to do with plumage, and a nice walk. We saw many Goldfinches, but a decent photo of one is still on my bucket list.
I saw, AND photographed, my first Redbacked Shrike/Neuntöter, which I would not have spotted, let alone identified, had it not been for Benedict, the ornithologist from Freilandlabor Britz. I also took some more photos of some of the many Kestrels there. Those are among my favourite birds.
