Very pleasant daytrip with Pema Reisen.
A lovely drive to Waren, and a bit beyond, looking at nature in autumn colours and already spotting many birds on the way.
Lunch in a fish restaurant beyond Waren, but I can’t remember the name of the restaurant. Meals on such trips with that kind of “mass catering” (a big double-decker bus completely full) are more like a necessity and never memorable. This one was a buffet, and fish is not suited for that, and everything was totally overcooked. But never mind – it is what it is, and we were all fed.
Onwards to a walk around Waren and the boat trip on Lake Müritz – the real purpose of the trip.
Light conditions were less than ideal (but at least it did not rain like last time I went on this trip) so I only got some really bad photos, but we did see and hear many flocks of cranes coming in to land for the night. And I always enjoy being on water.
