Popcorn is a healthy snack

Homemade popcorn is a healthy snack (but the microwave version is NOT – on the contrary – the inside of the bag gives off a lot of undesirable chemicals, and that product should be banned).

Here is how to pop your own corn:

Heat two tablespoons coconut or olive oil or duck fat or ghee in a large pot, add 90 g (organic, non-GMO!) corn, cover, shake the pan while you listen to the popping. When it stops, the popcorn is ready. Add salt to taste, and, if you like, freshly ground white pepper.

Try this variation:

Heat a tablespoon olive oil in a large pot on low heat. Add 1 finely chopped garlic clove and 1 teaspon cayenne pepper or chilli flakes, swirl around, add 50 g freshly made popcorn, stir well, and add salt to taste.
